My landscape paintings are inspired by the beauty in nature. I use bold compositions and striking colorways, and often work in a series as I explore an idea. The landscapes are places I know and love, or ones that I make up. One could categorize my work as surrealistic and expressionist. I paint mostly in oil and encaustic wax and also enjoy printmaking. My paintings are currently featured in several professional galleries in the Rochester area.
I enjoyed a three decade career as an art educator in the Greece Central School District (Greece, NY). I retired from teaching in 2017 to become a full-time painter. Since then, I have moved my studio to The Hungerford Building in downtown Rochester, joined the "Working with Wax" group of encaustic painters in Rochester, NY, and traveled to the Burren College of Art in Ireland to further explore encaustic wax painting. I provide private art lessons as my schedule allows. I enjoy art travel, and I am looking forward to a second painting trip to Ireland in the Spring of 2019.
